My first baby doll
I got the sweetest little baby doll for Christmas and it looks a little bit like me....I felt like I was looking in the mirror or something. Here is a little footage of my first few moments with my dolly.
And so this is Christmas!

A very Merry Christmas to you all! My first Christmas has been an absolutely magical time. On Wednesday, Mom, Dad, Pater, Bill, Lucy and I all loaded up and headed to La Grange. On Christmas Eve, we all went to church and then came home and opened presents and it was so much fun. Once I started to realize that inside all of these pretty boxes were new fun toys for me, I was very excited about them! Some of my favorite toys were a little car from Gigi, a doll from Mimi, a cow that mooooooos from Popo, and some Mega Blocks from my cousins Avery and Dax. After playing with the toys for a little while I headed over to my mom's cousins' house where there were babies everywhere! I have so many cute little cousins it is ridiculous! Finally, I got to turn in for the night and wake up to lots of fun on Christmas day consisting of eating some delicious turkey and dressing, playing with my toys and going on a walk with mom and Aunt Rachel. Today we were all just playing with our toys and you will never guess who showed up at Mimi's house....Santa Claus! I sat on his lap and he reminded me a whole lot of my Popo, but it was pretty neat. After Santa's visit, we came back home to Austin and we are all absolutely pooped! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas too!

My Mary is getting married!!

Well my sweet nanny Mary who I love so so much had a really big day today. She and her boyfriend Luke who have been dating for a couple of years went jogging at town lake and as they took a detour to a beautiful lookout point, Mary stumbled upon lots of pretty rose petals, strawberries and champagne and then Luke got down on his knee and proposed!! Mom and I were hiding in the bushes taking pictures and it was so special. Congratulations Mary! I love you!

Santa Claus is coming to town.
Oh Christmas tree Oh Christmas tree
Christmas 2008-my first Christmas on the outside!
Christmas 2007-still growing in Mom's belly!
Our new Christmas tradition
Mom, Dad, and I have been quite busy decking the halls and I am absolutely entranced by my very first Christmas tree. Mom assures me I was kinda around last year at this time but I don't remember, so she showed me this picture. Ha ha! Anyway, I love all the bright lights and shiny ornaments. And my dad says it is a tradition that he and I put the star on the top of the tree because he used to do it with his dad, so I did my best to get up to the top of the tree and help...

Getting ready for the Holiday Season!
Wheeeee! First Jeep ride!
My first Thanksgiving
From what I understand, Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks for all you have been given. I would like to start by saying I am thankful for this life and for all of you, my friends, who follow my blog. It is so special that you care about me and my journey and I am so happy to have you along for the ride! Ok Ok now for the food......I got to share Thanksgiving dinner with my Mom and Dad, Popo, Gigi and Uncle John. I have never had that many people with me at my table before. It was so much fun. And I got to eat the turkey, green beans, corn and mashed potatoes. Mmmmmmm. After dinner Mom took me for a walk which was so nice. After that, I was beat and I took a bath and went to bed. Thank goodness I fell asleep before the football game where my poor Aggies were beaten by UT. All in all, it was a blessed day and I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!
Daddy Day Care
Last weekend Mom was hosting a shower for Aunt Brandy's babies along with her friends, so my baby friends and I were left in the care of our Dads. We tried our hardest to run them ragged, but they kept up with us really well. We started our day off by watching College Game Day, then watched a little college football. We then moved down to the playroom where we wore ourselves (and our dads) out, so we needed to relax. That's when we moved into the hot tub and wound down before our afternoon naps. What a great day!
Baby it's time we got back to the basics of life
A few weekends ago we loaded up the dogs and headed down to our friends', Colton and Alyson's ranch. It was a great weekend. We did lots of relaxing and eating. And we played some cards and rode horses (of the Radio Flyer type). It was lots of fun, but I think I need to find a cute pair of Lucheses for our next trip!

What a Halloween!
I'm soooo tired I can barely write! As you all know, today was not only my first Halloween but I also turned 9 months old. So I started my day by going to the doctor for my checkup. I am doing really well, the doctor says. I weigh 20 lbs. 11 oz. and am 27 inches long. My head size is still off the charts, so I don't know what to say about that. I got two more vaccinations and my flu shot which was not fun, I must say. My day could only get better from there. To celebrate my first Halloween, I got to go over to Katy and Jeff's house and play with my friend Alice. We rode around in a wagon, then got into our costumes--I was a snail and Alice was a ladybug--and crawled around and took pictures. I tried trick or treating but when you are crawling the houses are just too far apart. It was exhausting, so we just ended up giving out candy instead. Then after Alice and I played a little music together with maracas and drums (THAT was awesome, by the way!), we took a bath and went to bed. In the bath, Alice got mad at me because I finished off the bottle of wine that she and I had been sharing. You can tell I was a little more relaxed at that point....Anyway, Halloween is so much fun! I wonder what I will be next year?
My first Halloween
Well Happy Halloween everybody!!! It just happens to be my 9 month birthday also, so I am on my way to my 9 month check-up right now, so I will have to update you on all of my stats later today. Also I will show you all my awesome Halloween costume. I will give you all a hint....it fits me because I can crawl and I leave a trail behind me.....

Now I know why they call it "Fall"
Now I know why they call it "Fall"
While we were in North Carolina Aunt Lynne took some pictures of me and some of Mom, Dad, and me in the leaves. I have never had a pile of leaves like that to play in before. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day!
In my mind I'm going to Carolina.

It was cold at our picnic.
I love to hike!

Waiting for takeoff...
Well, friends, sorry I have been so out of touch. Mom was out of town for work last week and then Friday we left for a fun five day trip to North Carolina. I hope I remember all that I did so that I can tell you but there were sooooo many firsts. Let me start with the fact that I am now crawling and have been for almost three weeks now. With that said, this weekend I started pulling myself up and I can stand up on my own now! Anyway, speaking of firsts, I had my first airplane ride on Friday. We flew from Austin to Dallas and then Dallas to Charlotte and I did great! The airplane made me pretty sleepy so I napped a little and ate a little and people on the plane LOVED me if I do say so myself. The flight attendant walked me up and down the aisle and the people around us were making silly Donald Duck noises just to make me laugh. It was great. Anyway, once we got to Charlotte we drove to Asheville so that I could meet my cousins Ben and Amy and their twin babies Bailey and Benjamin. It was so awesome. Ben and Amy are so much fun and Bailey and Benjamin are so cute and I will be able to boss them a little because I am a couple of months older than they are. That must be really weird to have another baby around all the time, but they seem to make it work. While we were there, we played a lot and then my other cousins Matt and Maria came over and brought their kids, Mason, Miller and Miles. Miles is about my age so he and I hung out a lot. At one point there 6 people under the age of 5 in that house. It was madness!! So we all went to the pumpkin patch that day and it was my first time to see a pumpkin. Those things are pretty neat. We left Ben and Amy's house on Sunday morning and started driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains. The fall foliage is absolutely beautiful in that area of the country. My cousins would be disappointed if they came to visit me in the fall because we don't have all of the fun colors that they have. So we got to my Aunt Lynne's house on Sunday afternoon and spent the next two days hiking and having picnics and playing in the pretty leaves. Yesterday we came home and last night I just crashed. I was exhausted! Oh and through it all, I got a second tooth!! It has been a craaaaaazy week!!! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their fall!

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy.
They got a lot of nice girls...
Cow's tongue
So Popo Vogt tells me I have the "Vogt tongue" and compares it to the tongue of a cow. I have come to understand that this means that my tongue is extraordinarily long. One of my favorite things to do is stick my tongue out and show it off. It's quite impressive. Anyway, I noticed that Uncle John also has this tongue. Here we are comparing.

Fun times with Mama T and Daddy Bob

This week was such a special treat. Mama T and Daddy Bob came to visit from Florida. They are my grandparents on my daddy's side and they are so much fun. Every day we would hang out and go for walks and then do fun projects around the house. We did lots of swinging on the back porch and just hangin' out. I also turned 8 months old last week. It's crazy! I am eating solid foods three times a day. (I even get some Cheerios every now and then!) I can maneuver myself around pretty efficiently with a kind of scooting crawl. And I can stand up and balance when I am holding on to something. I also say lots of "Dada" and "Mama" but I don't really know what they mean yet, so don't get too excited. Those dogs get more and more intriguing every day as well. Especially Pater. He lets me grab all over him whereas the little wiener looking ones let me pull their ear once and then they usually walk away. Oh well, I will be able to get them soon enough I suppose. Hope everyone has a great weekend and I cannot wait for Mama T and Daddy Bob to come back and visit me really soon!

My humble abode
Although I have been living in my room now for about 6 of my 8 months, I realized I haven't blogged about it yet. It's a cozy little room, really. I went with a color palette of brights including hot pink, lime green, yellow and baby pink. From what I hear, when Mom was about six months pregnant with me, she was in New York for work for about a week. When she came home, Dad had surprised her by painting my room a pretty green color and setting up all of my furniture. Since then they have added some fun things to my wall. My favorite thing is something my mom calls my "tree of friends". It hangs above my changing table and every time we get a new birth announcement from one of my friends, we put it on the tree. So far I have pictures of Alice, William, Miles, Bailey, Benjamin, Wyatt, and Leah that I love to look at. Other than that, I just love my bed so much. Sometimes I cry just so that someone will put me in my bed so that I can stare at the butterflies that flit around hanging from the ceiling. All in all, my room is somewhere I can go to be alone and reflect on my day and think about what great things are just around the corner.
Chompity chomp chomp!

Rubber ducky, you're the one.

As far back as I can remember I have really gotten a kick out of bathtime. Okay, so that first time in the hospital was a bit of a jolt, but ever since I got home and Mom and Dad put me in my nifty bathtub with my lavender baby wash, I really look forward to bathtime. Recently, though, it has become a whole new kind of fun. Now that I can sit up in my bathtub, I can splash around and play, so I got some new toys for the bath. There are a couple of cute little turtles that float around, but my absolute favorite is my rubber ducky. He is so bright and he smiles at me constantly, not to mention that he squeaks and loves to swim around my bathtub. I love you rubber ducky!
