My First Steps...

The video says it all! Check me out, I went from 3 or 4 steps here and there- to this:)

14 months today!!

Today marks exactly 14 months that I have been around and to celebrate, I had a big day. The main thing I did today was WALK. That's right everyone. It is official. Now I have been known to take 5 or 6 steps here and there, but today I have just been all over the place taking 20 and 30 steps at a time. It is so liberating! I have my hands free to do other fun stuff like talk on the phone. That is my new hobby. I will hold just about anything up to my ear - a phone, a sippy cup, my hand, and jabber away. I've seen Mom and Dad do it a lot and it seems like fun. I am also into talking in general. I say "dog", "mama", and "dada" and in my picture book, I am starting to be able to identify who is who. My newest favorite foods are hot dogs, mac and cheese, peas and carrots and I still enjoy my blueberry pancakes in the morning. I am comfortable only taking one two hour nap a day, but I've stretched out my evenings and am now sleeping 13 hours a night! Other than that, I am just spending as much time as I can outside by going for walks and helping Mom and Dad work in the yard. I also got a new water table that I can splash around in outside. I really love the Springtime. Well that is all for now; but I am pretty sure Dad is going to post some video of my walking escapades pretty soon, so stay tuned for that!

Alice (and Kate) in Wonderland!

Last Friday I had a special visit from Alice and her mom and dad. Alice and her mom came over to play with me and my mom while our dads were playing golf. (They SWEAR this counts as work!) First of all let me tell you how cute Alice is. She has these pigtails and runs around like its no big deal. She is so sweet and is just the best! Anyway, I had so much fun showing Alice all of my toys. And she gave me a late birthday present that is SUPER cool. It is a fun tunnel and you should have seen how fast she would cruise through it. I, on the other hand, am using some serious caution and I haven't decided if it is safe yet, so I just look through the tunnel at Mom, Dad, or the dogs on the other side and laugh. Anyway, after Alice showed me how the tunnel works, we played in my sandbox which was lots of fun because I think we are going to be beach buddies this summer!! Alice invited me to go to her beach house in South Padre and I have been so excited ever since! So after our outside play, we had to take a bath and then we were just wiped out, so we went to bed while the grown-ups grilled fajitas and had lots of fun. Thanks for coming over Alice; it was so much fun! Love you!

Well excuse me, but I think you've got my chair.

Tonight after my bath Mom, Dad, and I were just relaxing and watching TV before my bedtime. Suddenly I remembered a call I needed to make, so I grabbed Dad's phone and crawled on over to my chair. Well I forgot about the call, but was so comfortable I just decided to relax and wind down in my chair before bed. It's a great place to unwind.

Helping myself

Much to my amusement, I am now old enough to help myself to my afternoon snack. I can open up the box, reach in and come out with a handful of yummy banana crackers. Independence is something to be revered.

The rest of my Spring Break

Well, we arrived home safely from Florida on Monday night, and I am still recovering from all of the fun we had. Between watching sunsets, beach trips, boat rides, swimming in the pool and walks, I am absolutely pooped. It was so much fun, though, and I just can't WAIT to go back and visit Mama T and Daddy Bob sometime soon!

My first trip to Marco Island

Well I am blogging today from a very special place, dear friends. I am at my Mama T and Daddy Bob's house in Marco Island, Florida! It is my first time to visit and oh man am I having fun! We got here last night and Mama T and Daddy Bob picked Mom, Dad and I up at the airport in Ft. Lauderdale. This was my second airplane ride and I didn't like this one as much as the first. Anyway, once we got here I got to meet their dog, Wes, and then we all went to bed. This morning I woke up, and got to go for a morning walk where I met a lot of Mama T and Daddy Bob's friends. When we got home, I had breakfast and took a little nap because I knew my afternoon was going to be full of activities. After lunch, I got to hit the beach for the first time. If you have never seen a beach, it is basically like one HUGE sandbox connected to one HUGE swimming pool that moves. It really is one of God's best creations! I spent a little time splashing in the ocean and building sand castles and then it was time to go. When we got home, it was time for more water fun. We went swimming in the pool for a while before I was just plain exhausted. What a fun filled first day in Marco! I will keep you posted on the rest of my trip so stay tuned...

Aves and me

As most of you know, I have two cousins, Avery and Dax. Dax is the only boy and he just kinda lies there, so Avery and I have been having some fun together. She and I are going to be nothing but trouble together. You mark my words!

Avery's 2nd Annual Birthday Bash!

My cousin Avery's second birthday was February 23rd, so last weekend Mom, Dad and I headed to Dallas to celebrate her turning 2 years old! Apparently Elmo is all the rage when you are two, so Gigi made her a really cute Elmo birthday cake and Aunt Rachel made Elmo cupcakes. But the best part about the party, the piece de resistance if you will, was the bounce house. I really wasn't feeling my best, as you can see in the pictures, but I still tried my best to party. It was so much fun and Avery is my buddy. She is always coming up to me to kiss me or share her toys with me. I think she's pretty cool.
