The Swaney twins turn 1!
Today I went to Bailey and Benjamin's first birthday party in New Braunfels. Their mom and my mom are first cousins and they grew up together. You will remember that I went to visit them in the fall in North Carolina. Anyway, they are in town for the week, so we all got to celebrate together!! So back to the party. It was a pool party, but I wasn't really in the mood to swim so instead and I just walked around the pool most of the day. They had the cutest little jungle cakes. Benjamin's was a lion and Bailey's was an elephant. Benjamin absolutely DESTROYED his and Bailey was a little lady and just picked at hers. There was this dog named Gus at the party and he played so hard with all of us, that he finally just laid down and we all started piling little floaty animals all over him. Poor Gus! And then my friend Teagan had her pet bunny there and we were all playing with it. It is so much softer than my dogs!
Feeding myself!
Along with my newfound independence that comes with drinking from a cup, I am also practicing feeding myself with a spoon. I can scoop up peas and carrots and mac and cheese. As a treat the other night, Mom and Dad gave me some chocolate pudding for dessert. I took one bite with a spoon and realized it was way too delicious to take my time with so I dug in! Another treat I have been enjoying is ketchup. It is really the only way I will eat meat right now. It is so delicious!
Bubbles!
William and I have been spending some time outside lately and we just love playing in my water table. First of all, please excuse our outfits. We used to wear clothes at the water table but we get ourselves so wet, that they decided to just strip us down to our diapers! Anyway, we love the water table. It helps us stay cool when it is hot outside, and while we are out there, Mary and my Mom will blow bubbles. In fact, I can say "bubbles" now. Well, it sounds more like "bubbbbbb" but they know what it means! W and I have also honed our drinking skills at the water table...but in two different ways. I am learning to drink from a cup (as you can see in the picture) and W is learning to drink like a dog! He just walks up and dips his head in and takes a sip and keeps walking! I guess he has been watching all of the canines around here! Boys can be so silly sometimes!
Goodbye to texas university...
So long to the orange and the whi-i-ite! That's the song I was singing all day long the day Mary put me in this AWFUL dress! Her roomies gave it to me for my birthday and so one day, Mary got me dressed and my Mom came home and took some pictures before teaching me that song. And don't let my smile fool you, I do NOT like the Longhorns! Gig Em!
