Guilty pleasures...

At the end of each day, when I get home from school, Mom and I like to unwind by watching Young and the Restless. Apparently Mom has been hooked on this show since she was a little girl and I can see why! That theme song is really catchy and you just never know what Victor Newman will do next! Here we are after a rough day at school/work cuddled up and catching up on Genoa's City's latest happenings!
I have also become mildly obsessed with pudding. In the morning when Mom packs my lunch, I have been known to go in the pantry and come out with several puddings just in case she forgets. Last week we went to Maudie's (you all may know that I have been on restaurant probation-sitting still that long makes me LOCO!) but M & D got smart and brought some pudding this time so I was all smiles and we all enjoyed our dinner out!

Baby Blake

Last weekend we hit the road to Houston to meet 3 month old Blake William Haas. His parents, Colton and Alyson, and my parents have been friends for several years and we just couldn't wait to meet him. He was born on Cinco de Mayo, so you know he is gonna be up for a good time! Anyway, he is pretty stinkin' cute. Can't wait until I can invite him to my tea parties! Here is a picture of Blake and me with our cute dads! OH! I almost forgot one of the best parts of the weekend! On Saturday morning Mom, Dad, and I went to visit Mary and Luke to see their newlywed digs! They look so happy. If I had to lose Mary to someone, I am really glad it was Luke! And Mary starts nursing school in a couple of weeks; I can't believe it! Anyway, their apartment is so neat, I just wanted to stay for a while but we had to go when I pooped my pants. Hey, it happens!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Sheesh, I am behind on my blogging! I will try my best to catch you up. July 13th was Daddy's birthday, but since that was on a Monday, we decided to celebrate a little the following weekend. So on Friday my cute cousins Bailey and Benjamin came in with their Mom and Dad. Their mom and my mom are first cousins and they grew up together, remember? We visited them in North Carolina last Fall? Well GREAT news! As of July 4th, they are officially TEXANS!! They live right down the road from me now so I cannot wait to see them all the time! Anyway, they came to town and Saturday while my Dad played a birthday round of golf with the guys, Mom, Aunt Amy B, B, and I went for a walk around Town Lake. Then we spent the rest of the day hanging out by the pool. William and Jennifer came over to join us too! That night we all ate BBQ (except me. You see: I am pondering being a vegetarian....more on that later....)and turned in. Happy Birthday Dad! Love you!

Splash!

On Sunday afternoon in an attempt to beat the heat, we met William and his parents at the splash park in Cedar Park. Mom and Dad were surprised by how much fun I had. I ran around like a crazy baby even though there were big kids everywhere being crazy. After the splash park, we stopped by William's house to play in the baby pool. Note: I still strongly dislike those things. I prefer big people pools thank you very much.

Leah's first birthday party

Saturday Mom, Dad and I took a short little trip out to Mason where my friend Leah lives with her Dad, Mom (who is one of my Mom's BFFs) and brothers Ty and Tate. Today, July 14th is actually Leah's birthday but we celebrated on Saturday with a fun pool party. It seems like just yesterday little Leah was born and now she is already walking and all sorts of big girl stuff! Anyway, I love hanging out with them and I hope we get to see them again really soon!! I wish Mom would have gotten some pics of Ty and Tate because even though they are older men, they are gooooood looooookin'! I will remind her next time. Oh and in the last picture I am showing you my latest obsession, which is "hats". I will put anything on my head in an attempt to accessorize.....except a real hat-Forget that!

Seventeen months old

Well yesterday I turned 17 months old and I just thought I would give all of you, my friends, a little update on what I am up to these days. I am still sleeping about 12 hours a night, but now I am getting tired around 6:30! School really wipes me out, I've gotta tell ya. Speaking of school I have now been there for one month, and I don't even cry when Mom and Dad drop me off anymore. I just get into the groove and start playing with my new friends Charlie and Lola. I can point to my my hair, nose, ears, eyes, mouth and tummy now when you ask me to. And I definitely understand more than you people give me credit for. When Mom says, "Hey Kate, are you ready for dinner?" I will run to my high chair as if to say, "Heck yes I am ready for dinner!" No real news on the hair front. I still don't have enough to even put a clip in. Oh well. I also have found some new friends around here to chase around. They go by the names of Pater, Willie and Lucy. I love to chase them and try to give them pets but they aren't so sure about being my friend yet. On a sour note, I have also really gotten a bit of a temper in the past few weeks. If I get frustrated at something, I will kick and hit, YIKES! Just don't mess with me, okay? Some of my favorite activities are sitting in my chair and reading a book, swimming in the pool, riding in my cozy coupe, putting my baby doll to bed in her crib and pushing her around in her stroller, helping Mom to water her plants (i.e. playing with the water hose). I chit chat all of the time, but the only things people seem to understand that I say are "Mama", "Dada", "Dog", "Duck", "Ball", "This", "That", "Night Night", "Uh oh", and "Dip dip (this means ketchup)". This has been a wild ride so far!

Weekend with the Waldens (and Vogts!)

Well somehow we didn't get any pictures of the real action this weekend which was that my mom's WHOLE family was in town visiting! Popo, Gigi, Uncle John, Aunt Rachel, Uncle Chris and Avery and Dax were all here. It was so hot outside that we spent most of the weekend playing in the sprinkler and in the pool. Lucky for me, I had a new sporty swimsuit that Dad brought home from his last work trip to College Station. I think I look pretty good in maroon, what do you think?? And it is a good thing because Mom says IF I choose, I will be a FOURTH generation Aggie. My Mom and Dad, Popo Vogt and his dad (who was my mom's Popo Vogt) all went there. I could tell there was something pretty special about it when we went to that football game last fall. Seeing as how I have 17 years to make that decision though, I digress, and will just be sporting my Aggie swimsuit in support of my team for now. Anyway, on Sunday after everyone left, Mom and Dad took me to the fountains at Zilker Park and we splashed around. Then I have my very first Jamba Juice. I decided on the Strawberries Wild flavor and it was delicious! Then Monday it was back to work (well, school, for me). Anyway, thanks for coming to stay with me for the weekend everybody! RED ALERT: As my mom typed this up for me, I climbed up on the couch for the first time with no help. I am unstoppable!!!
