Well the day has arrived everyone! Today I turned 2 years old! And what a day it has been! I spent all day celebrating starting with my birthday breakfast at 7:30 this morning. I woke up to a wonderful treat of homemade Belgian waffles. The waffle part I could totally pass on, but the strawberries and whipped cream part really hit the spot. After my breakfast, I cuddled with Mom and Dad in their bed to watch Cars (again.). Then it was time to open my first birthday present which was a play laptop from my parents. It was pretty cool. Then I just played around the house a little with Mom, Dad, Mama T, Bob Bob, Uncle John, Gigi, Popo and the dogs, because it was below 30 degrees outside almost all day! Brrrrr. Mom says that the weather was a lot like that the day I was born exactly two years ago. Very cold and rainy. After my nap, I put on my birthday clothes, and we headed off to My Gym for my birthday party! It was great! So many of my friends made it: Avery and Dax, William and Charles McEwan, Alice Jefferies, Leah Schmidt, Wyatt Smith, Matthew and Lillian Robb, all the parents, Aunt Katie, Uncle John, my grandparents- I mean it was AWESOME! We jumped on the trampoline, played in the bounce house, hid under a fort, but I think we will all agree that the best part of the party was either the bubbles or the cake! Gigi made me my very own airplane cake. And it was delicious! I had so much fun with everybody but I was definitely happy to get back home and open my presents! I got so much cool stuff: a "Pinkalicious" book, some play food, a cookie jar, an AIRPLANE, a set of the cars from Cars, a big Dora the Explorer tent, the Little People garage, a cool latches puzzle, a fun phonics game....and then the grand finale: Mom and Dad got me my very own playscape for the yard!!!! Oh I can't wait until I can get out and play on it! After opening my presents Dad and I did a little dancing to Black Eyed Peas music while we watched the Grammys, but finally around 8:15, I just pooped out, so I am off to bed. Thank you SO MUCH to my wonderful family and friends who helped me celebrate turning the big 2! I love y'all!!!!

Celebrating two amazing years
I thought I would take a second to get everyone caught up on what all I have accomplished as I near the celebration of my 2nd birthday. First I will give you all an idea of what I am doing these days. I can identify all of my ABC's (as I think y'all know by now). I know my numbers 1-10. I know the colors orange, red, pink, yellow, green, blue, purple, black, brown and white. I am really trying to speak in sentences these days. Every now and then I will throw a verb, conjunction or preposition in with all of my nouns. It makes my ex-English teacher of a mom very proud! I would eat only chocolate if I could. Each day when I get in Mom or Dad's car after school I inform them, "Need help with piece of chocolate". I'm very precocious, you see. The movie "Cars" has recently become an obsession for me. I insist we "Watch cars" several times a day. And when I get to, I narrate the movie by pointing out what color each and every car is in the movie. My night-night is still my favorite "toy". As soon as I get my hands on my night-night, I start sucking my thumb and I'm ready for bed! I love my bedtime. I sleep about 12 hours a night and I let Mom and Dad know when I am ready for bed. Around 7:30 each night I just say "Night Night" and if they ask me, "Are you ready for bed?", I just smile and say, "Yeah". I am still loving my bath. But don't get me wrong; Not everything is always hunky dory around here. I have become quite the little bossy boss. I like to instruct my parents: "Daddy, sit down on couch!" and if he doesn't, well I let him know that I am none too pleased. And don't even get me started on how mad it makes me if I don't get the aforementioned chocolate I am asking for. I have learned to turn on the charm though. Sometimes I will grab Dad's face, kiss him, on the lips, tell him I love him and then follow with "piece of chocolate. please". It totally gets him every time! So yeah chocolate's my favorite thing. Oh, that is except for airplanes. I also think it is the best when I can get M or D to Google airplanes for me and we can just look at pictures of airplanes for an hour. Yellow airplanes are my absolute favorite. As you know I have also been working very hard on growing hair this year and I have managed to get enough for a bow, but not enough for pigtails. I love necklaces and bracelets. I play with Mom's whenever I get a chance. Enjoy these pictures of me taken on or near all of my birthdays so far!

School Birthday Party!
This morning I kicked off my 2nd birthday weekend with a party with all of my friends and teachers at school! We had a special circle time in which we went through the story of my life. And somehow Miss Corazon had all of these pictures of Mom and Dad, and me from the past two years. I have to admit it was a little embarassing to be up there as the center of attention! I couldn't really say much. But it was fun to share this time with my best buddies from school. I can't stop talking about Charlie, Lola, Ace, and Maya. That is kinda the crew I run with right now. After the story, everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to me and then I think I was supposed to blow out the candle on my cupcake, but I was just too stunned, so my friend Lola helped me out. Then we all got to enjoy the cupcakes that I brought for the class to celebrate! Then I posed for a picture with my sweet teachers. I think they're pretty great! What a great start to my birthday weekend! I hear that all of my grandparents, Uncle John, Aunt Rachel, Uncle Chris, Avery and Dax are all coming in to see me! And I think I am going to get the chance to see some of my fun friends that I don't get to play with very often. The anticipation of it all has me so excited!

Airplane watching

For those of you who do not yet know, my most recent obsession is 100% airplanes. Ever since our trip to Marco Island a couple of months ago, when I stood on Dad's lap looking out the window of our airplane, I talk about airplanes all of the time. I wake up saying "Airplane book" because my airplane book goes to bed with me every night. And if I am outside and hear that familiar jet engine sound, I kinda lose it. I start yelling "OOH OOH AIRPLANE!" In fact, I usually spot them before anyone else does. So Sunday morning we had a breakfast picnic near the airport. I even got to keep my pajamas and house shoes on for the party! After we got our Starbucks (chocolate milk and an oatmeal blueberry bar for me, coffee for Mom and Dad), we sat and watched airplane after airplane take off and fly over our heads. I gotta tell you, it was a good time.

My first trip to the movie theater!!
On Saturday morning, Dad took me to see my very first movie in a theater! He has been wanting to go for a looooooong time, and so I think he might have even been more excited than I was. We went to see "The Princess and the Frog". I was definitely into the movie for about an hour and then it was time to go. So I didn't get to see how it ended. Hopefully we will watch it on DVD one day. But I have to be honest with you....my very favorite part about the theater was the POPCORN!!
Frontyard campfire
I just came across these pictures from Thanksgiving that I completely forgot to share. The day after Thanksgiving, Avery, Dax and I hiked through the yard over to the campfire site that Dad and I have been building. We made smores and had a great time! After the campfire, we headed back inside and had a coloring party. And all of the wiener dogs joined in, as you can see....
