M&L and the ER

This weekend I had highs and I had lows. The best part of my weekend was the company I had at Blackjack: Mary and Luke. I love seeing them so so much and this weekend was so much fun. We splashed around in my baby pool and I showed Luke how to ride my four wheeler. And I showed them both the magic that is the Wonder Pets, although, I am not sure they get it. Nobody seems to be as excited about the WP as I am. So M&L were certainly the highlight of my weekend. Uncle John and Gigi came by, too, for a visit which is always a good time. So that was my "high". However, this morning as I was playing in the dirt, I got some kind of a bite on my hand. I am still not sure what bit me, but 10 minutes later I was covered in hives and Mom and Dad were taking me for my first trip to the ER at the La Grange hospital. You see, after that scary staph infection stunt I pulled about 6 months ago, Mom and Dad have become what I might consider "alarmists". Bless their hearts. But don't worry, I'm fine. I was itchy, but I got some medicine (and a delicious red popsicle!) at the hospital and now I'm doing much better. Thanks Mary and Luke for the visit (and the Cars stickers!!!). I can't wait to see you guys again really soon!

The Circus!

Sunday night we went to the Circus and it was lots of fun. My favorite parts were certainly all of the acts with animals: the dogs, the elephants and the horses. As for the acrobatics and magic, I wasn't so impressed. I did LOVE the popcorn and the light up toy that I got while I was there!

Weekend visit with Blake Haas

This weekend I got a visit from cutie pie Blake Haas. He and his mom, Alyson, came to stay with me and my mom while our dads were at Lake Whitney doing their fantasy football draft (whatever that is!) We had a great weekend walking around town lake together, swimming and having dinner at the Grove. Katie Jan also came over for a visit which is always fun. Katie, Alyson and Mom used to all work together! Blake and I also had lots of fun playing around the house. He was so busy in my play kitchen. I love a man who can cook!

Baby "Butter"

This is what I call him these days anyway. Yesterday Mom and Dad had this picture taken of my baby brother. They gave me a copy and I felt so proud of how cute he is that I walked around making sure all 3 dogs saw the picture and acknowledged how cute he is. For the rest of the night, I walked around with my baby doll who is dressed in blue and called him "Baby Blake". Also I have decided I like that name and my parents seem to be a little more agreeable with this choice :)

Storytime Live

Last night Mom, Dad and I had a fun night out. First, we had dinner at Threadgill's and then I took my first trip to the Long Center to see Storytime Live! It was a musical which starred a bunch of my favorites from the Nickelodeon Channel: Kai Lan, the Backyardigans, WONDER PETS, and Dora the Explorer!! The show lasted for an hour and a half and I sat still on Daddy's lap through the entire thing absolutely mesmerized. At the end, all of the characters came out onto the stage and started singing, "You know you make me wanna SHOUT!" I was clapping and dancing and when they finished singing, I turned around and said, "I wanna see it again!" What a fun night out on the town!

Chores

These days, I have two chores that I do to help out around the house. I like to help Mom water the plants outside where I visit my buddy, Cyclops the Frog, each day. We call him Cyclops because the poor little dude only has one eye! But this is the second summer he has spent out on our front steps, so we have grown to really like him. But if Mom, Dad, or the dogs get too close to Cyclops, I tell them, "No. No. Don't touch him! It's dangerous. Walk away." I also like to fill the dogs' bowls with their dog food. Geez, with all of the pitching in I am doing, I guess it's about time I start negotiating an allowance....

Bye Bye Baby!

I have had a really big week everybody. It started with me deciding that it is time I use my potty. Mom and Dad have been talking to me about it for quite some time, but as you all know I really need for things to be MY idea before I do them. And this week I decided the potty would be a good idea. So I am officially wearing underwear during the day and have very few accidents! As soon as I go on the potty I scream and say "Look! I went tee tee! Now I get treats and a star!" And I do. I get a handful of M&Ms and I get to put a star on my chart. It is totally worth all of the hoopla, I tell you. In other big girl news, Thursday night was my very first night in my big girl bed! I wasn't so sure I was going to love it, to be sure, but after a bit of protest the first night, I am really digging my new sleeping arrangements. Apparently Mom and Dad need my crib for "baby brother". And speaking of that guy, if you ask me what I want his name to be, I will tell you with absolute certainty, "Sister". Yes I am happy that it's a brother but I just think that would be such a fantastic name for the little dude! I'm not sure the parentals are buying in....

Girly

Although there are definitely some things about me that make me a bit of a tomboy (I LOVE cars and airplanes, riding on the four wheeler and getting really dirty outside), I thought I would take a minute to share a few of my "girly" moments including Mom's fancy red heels, necklaces and bows, dresses, pigtails and everything PINK!

First Schulenburg Festival

This weekend Mom, Dad and I stayed out at Blackjack and went to the Schulenburg Festival on Saturday. Saturday morning while Dad was hard at work clearing brush, Mom and I headed to the Schulenburg fun run so that we could see Uncle John. Then that night we went back to do a little shopping at the booths and to go to the carnival. Dad and I also shared a strawberry snow cones- refreshing and delicious! Back to the carnival: It was my first time to go to a carnival and I loved it! I liked the carousel and the helicopter ride but I shocked the heck out of my parents by insisting that I wanted to ride on the ferris wheel. Dad and I rode the ferris wheel together and even though HE was a little scared, I just laughed and said, "Oh my goodness!" over and over. I got to eat my very first funnel cake and I met my very first carneys (those are the slightly scary folks that run all of the rides-yikes!) And Willie and Lucy created our first Blackjack emergency when they got bitten on their noses by a snake! I just kept saying "Poor Willie and Lucy" and giving them kisses on their poor swollen noses. Saturday afternoon Uncle John came out for a visit which was lots of fun. It is good to be home after a fun weekend!

Weekend with Mama T and Bob Bob

This weekend Mama T and Bob Bob came to town for a visit so I had to take them out to Blackjack to show them how much fun it is out there. Mom and I got to ride around on the 4 wheeler (which is one of the first things I ask for when we get there now) and we moved in the rest of the furniture so now we are ready to spend the weekend there! Gigi and Max met us out there to help and it was fun to see her too! Back in Austin, we took a trip to the Oasis and got in a little pool time. Thanks for the visit Mama T and Bob Bob! See ya soon!
