Townsend Christmas 2012

Last week Mama T, Daddy Bob and Aunt Lynne all flew to Austin for our Townsend family Christmas.  We had so much fun and Mama T got the best Christmas present: Luke said her name over and over, "Mommy T!"  Here's a recap of our five days of fun!

Aunt Lynne and us in front of our tree

Love my new dress and matching scarf from Mama T and Daddy Bob.  And Mom and Dad gave me these blinky shoes. They. are. awesome.

Lots of Christmas cheer with Mama T and Daddy Bob

We took a trip to the Zilker tree...

and the Trail of Lights!

Snack break at the Trail of Lights.  Funnel cakes.  Mmmmmmm.

We spent one night at Blackjack.  I got in some Jeepin'

Kate swinging on our new/old porch swing.  We just hung it up at Das Bunkhaus, but it used to hang on Mama's great grandmother's porch in La Grange.  It was the swing where her Popo Vogt "courted" her Mimi Vogt over 75 years ago.   How sweet is that!

Kate on the porch.  The "ROOMS" sign was also from Mom's great grandmother's house.  She ran a boarding house in the 1920s in town and that sign was out front.  Rocking chairs are also courtesy of Mimi Vogt.  Mom might be a bit of a sentimental hoarder.....

Chair from Matagorda circa 1960s.  Cuteness from Kate.

I'm a little cookie monster.

Golf cart ride.

Relaxing with Mama on the swing.

Pretty foggy morning

Truck hoarding makes me happy.

Cute grandparents.  Cute grandbabies.

Mama T and Daddy Bob gave me this awesome sock cow.  I have slept with it every night since then.

2012 International Night

Julian and me before the show

Luke spots Mom in the audience.

Jingle Bells

Waiting to go on!

Gigi and Luke enjoying the show

My class

Julian and me singing "Silent Night".  To each other.
Tonight was Town and Country Montessori's International Holiday Night.  It was Luke's first International Night and my last.  Mom, Dad, Gigi and Popo were all there to watch us.  We were all decked out in our German togs: me in my dirndl and Luke in his lederhosen.   Luke's class sang Jingle Bells and my class sang lots of holiday songs from different countries around the world.  During Silent Night, I stood right by Julian and we sang to each other.  Now let me tell you about Julian.  I have told Mom and Dad that he is the boy I am going to marry.  They laugh but I am serious.  He is my very best friend at school.  I sit by him during circle time.  I play with him on the playground (dinosaurs and unicorns).  I give him a hug first thing in the morning and last thing in the afternoon.  When they ask me why I am going to marry Julian, I simply answer, "Because he is wonderful and kind."  I digress.  Back to International Night, after the program we all had dinner together and then headed home. Wonderful night!

Lost Creek Country Club Christmas party

I'd like a motorcycle.  Yes, a motorcycle.

I don't love this!

Last night we saw Santa for the first time this year.  We went up to the club and there he was.  I was amazed while Luke remained unsure.  I walked up, sat right on his lap and told him what I wanted: a motorcycle.  This was the first time Mom or Dad had ever heard this information and I think they are still processing it.  Then Luke joined me on the big guy's lap for a few photos but he didn't get too comfortable there.  When we were finished we made lots of fun glittery crafts and decorated some Christmas cookies.  It's beginning to feel at a lot like Christmas!

Luke's 2nd birthday party

A truck from Uncle John.

Moooo!!

Mom and Dad.  They think I'm neat.

A little family photo before we dig into this cow cake....

I can't carry all of my cars!

The ladies singing "Happy Birthday".  They either love me or they love my cake.

Too much birthday.  Let's go home.

But first let me get my sister!

Friday we celebrated a big thing around here.  I turned two years old.  I am pretty sure that makes me not a baby anymore.  I can do all kinds of big boy things.  My vocabulary is growing: I say Mommy, Daddy, "Tet" (Kate), "Boy" (that's me), dog, truck, car, go, Ba-boo (Popo), Gleh Gleh (Gigi), Gah Gahn (Uncle John), and of course "Moooooo."  Right now I am adding words everyday.  Some of them my people understand and some they don't.  I do have a way of getting my point across, though.  I still love cows and cars and trucks.  And I loooooooove my sister.  I especially like to chase her around and get her.  Sometimes she thinks that is a fun game and other times she gets pretty mad at me.  I am a lover and a fighter: I love to make sure everyone gets kisses at bedtime, but I have also been known to get a little too physical when I want someone to play with me.  To celebrate the big day on Friday, we have a party at Austin's Pizza.  About 12 of my friends came and we bounced around in the bounce house and ate pizza until I announced that I was ready to go around 6:30.  Thank you everyone for joining me in the amazing first two years on this planet!!

OH Christmas tree 2012

Putting the star on the tree

Today we began our Christmas decorating.  As I was organizing my nativity set I was pretending that the wise men all brought chocolate to the baby Jesus.  When Mom suggested that they might bring gold, frankincense and myrrh, I replied, "I think he would rather have chocolate."  -Kate
