Last day of school!

Today is my last day of school before summer fun begins!!!  I chose my very own end of school outfit, by the way. 

I am 18 months old....that's 1 1/2 you know!

Yesterday was my 1.5 birthday.  To celebrate we all took a trip to the Austin Zoo.  I loved looking at the animals but did not get too close.  These days I am so very into letting everyone know my likes and dislikes.  I say "Yeah" a lot and I love to shake my head "No."  Like when asked if I am ready for bed, I now shake my head "No", or if asked if I want to get in the pool.  That's a big "No."  My favorite things are my dogs (I hug them and love on them all day long), pens (perhaps I shall become a writer?), and I am still a big fan of the cows.  I will say "Mama", "Dada", and a version of sister that sounds somewhat German: "Zestah".  Uncle John is "GaGA",  the dogs are "Gah", and there is a whole lot of pointing to let everyone know what I want or where I want to go.  I am still pretty good at getting them to carry me around as it is my favorite mode of transportation.  I love my Zestah like nothing else.  The minute she enters a room a run to her and give her a hug and a kiss (although sometimes that kiss turns into a bite).  I love to chase her around and generally just emulate her every move.  She is amazing.

Rounding off the weekend watching Spiderman with the Robbs.

We celebrated the beginning of summer this weekend with lots of fun with some of our best friends.  The Jefferies met us at Blackjack for some good old four wheeling-plastic swimming pool-homemade ice cream fun.  Then on Monday afternoon, we had a pool party with the Robbs followed by movie night.  Fun!

Beach season begins!!

This week was our first beach trip of the summer.  Dad has been working in the valley this week, so Luke, Mom and I loaded up on Friday and drove down to South Padre Island to join him for some beach time.  I am very excited about the sand and the ocean these days but Luke (who walked in the sand for the first time on Friday) is a little wary of both.....

Mother's Day at Blackjack

Mom's 6th anniversary gift from Dad.  A sweet little heart that he engraved with, "A special place.  A special day.  5-6-06. Love you forever, B"  It hangs on one of the trees under which they were married.  How sweet.

This weekend we celebrated Mother's Day at Blackjack so that we could be with Gigi.  This was the first year that I told my mom, "Happy Mother's Day.  I love you"  unprovoked.  I then asked Dad if we could go out into the pasture to pick her some special Mother's Day flowers.  She says they were her very favorite bouquet of "Mexican Hats"  she has ever seen.  We also sent 3 wishing lanterns into the sky and I wished for "my whole family to always be with me and give me hugs."  Wow.  Mom says Luke and I are the best Mother's Day gifts a girl could ever ask for and I just said, "Awwwwwwe, Mama, I love you."
