Nashville and Mary's Wedding

After leaving Aunt Lynne's we drove down through North Carolina where we stopped for lunch in Asheville and Mellow Mushroom (Kate and Luke's request), hiked at Twin Falls and ended up in Greenville where we spent the night at the Vogts and had a fun time in downtown Greenville.  The next day it was off to Nashville.  We drove through the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee and finally reached our destination.  Once in Nashville, we visited the Hermitage, which was President Andrew Jackson's home.  Then it was time to join Mary and Madison at their celebration.  What a fun time we had at the wedding!  The next day we explored Nashville and then flew back to Austin.
State number 3 of the trip and our first time to Tennessee!

North Carolina with Aunt Lynne!

In mid-September, Mary and Madison got married in Nashville and we wanted to make a trip of it, so we started with a trip to North Carolina to see Aunt Lynne.  We love her little cabin in the woods so much and had a wonderful time hiking and exploring and enjoying the nature all around her house in Todd.

Harvey!!!

In September Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas coast.  It devastated several coastal towns and flooded Houston and Beaumont for weeks.  It was a hard time for Texas, but one really cute thing came out of it.  Mom found this puppy at the Austin Animal Center and although we were considering fostering one of the Harvey evacuees, she decided we needed this dog to be ours.  So she saved him from that kennel at the Animal Center and brought him to our house where we have been loving on him since then.  The shelter said he was most likely born sometime in May, and he is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet!  Even Scarlett loves him.

Harvey and Rocky love to snuggle.

The day Harvey came home.

Everybody loves Harvey.
