Rubber ducky, you're the one.

As far back as I can remember I have really gotten a kick out of bathtime. Okay, so that first time in the hospital was a bit of a jolt, but ever since I got home and Mom and Dad put me in my nifty bathtub with my lavender baby wash, I really look forward to bathtime. Recently, though, it has become a whole new kind of fun. Now that I can sit up in my bathtub, I can splash around and play, so I got some new toys for the bath. There are a couple of cute little turtles that float around, but my absolute favorite is my rubber ducky. He is so bright and he smiles at me constantly, not to mention that he squeaks and loves to swim around my bathtub. I love you rubber ducky!

Gig Em, Whoop, and lots of other things I have to learn to say...

Yesterday I took my first trip to College Station. It was my first Aggie Game Day and I had no idea what to expect other than Mom and Dad seemed really excited. So we started the day by getting decked out in "game day gear". I had two really cute Aggie dresses so I had to do my usual wardrobe change halfway through the day. Anyway, we got to the tailgate and guess who was there? My buddy William! That guy is everywhere I go! Anyway, we tailgated with John, Jennifer, Brandy and James and then the girls went into the game while the dads stayed out at the tailgate with the babies. Dad got lots of good pictures of me tailgating. Apparently something happened during the game that made everybody a little grumpy. I think our Aggies aren't so good this year.....Anyway, after the game, we walked around campus. Mom and Dad say there is no pressure on me to go to A&M but it seems like it would be pretty cool because apparently I would be a fourth generation Aggie!! So we walked to the Academic Building where we saw our friends Justin and Eve get engaged under the century tree! Apparently that is one of the big traditions at A&M. I kept hearing that word all day - tradition. It seems pretty nifty. So after the excitement of the game and the engagement, we were all pooped and ready to come home. All in all, it was a great day and I loved my first trip to Aggieland!

The camera is back!

I want to thank you all for being so patient with my mom and dad. You see, on the 4th of July, our Nikon camera was dropped and broken. Dad sent it off to get it fixed and in the meantime they were using an old digital camera that they had to capture all of my moments. Well, about four weeks ago, Mom was doing laundry and heard something clanking around in the dryer. She checked the dryer and found nothing, yet the clanging continued. After a second check, she gave up and just let the cycle finish. When it came time to fold the clothes, she found the source of this clanging. It was the old digital camera which Dad had left in his pocket! They still haven't decided exactly whose fault that is, but I suppose it is a moot point by now. So to make a long story short, they have not been able to take a picture of me in weeks, and I have really been annoyed by it. You see, I tend to think the camera loves me. I smile whenever I see that thing pointed at me. So Dad got the call today that the lens was back and here is my first picture back in action. Dad took it while I was playing on the floor before bedtime. So thank you all for being patient while I was on blogging hiatus, but I am back and I will be blogging it up! Stay tuned.

Another Month...

Well, I can't believe I've been out of the womb for 7 months now. Things are great. (except I really want to be able to crawl). I think I will in the next few weeks- trust me, as soon as I do- I'll update this blog first thing! Other than that, I can see great, scream loud, slap the water in the pool and tub, cry, giggle, eat a lot of level 2 mushy stuff, smile, and make toot noise with my mouth (and bottom:). Anyway- gotta go...dad needs the computer to set his lineup for fantasy football. BYE!

Biter biscuits are boss.

Although I really enjoy dinnertime with my regular stage 2 baby food, my latest obsession is the biter biscuit. I get one almost every day and man are they good. I just gum it until it turns to mush and is all over my clothes and my face and my arms and....well you get the idea. Anyway, it almost always ends in a bath for me (which I am still loving!) and a change of clothes. And let's be honest, what girl doesn't want to have several wardrobe changes a day?

Learning my insects...

So I'm trying to learn the different types of insects in the world using my new flashcards. I'm doing this because I overheard my mom and dad talking about the Halloween costume they just ordered online for me. Appearently- it's going to be hilarious. They keep saying "Kate's gonna be the cutest little snail in the whole world". I haven't found a 'snail' on my flashcards yet- but I'm going to keep looking!

Defenseless against the swing's powers

Sometimes when I am a little sleepy but can't seem to relax Mary will take me out and sit on the porch swing. William and I really can't help but relax when we are out there. It is really hard not to fall asleep when we swing. In fact sometimes I do. The last thing I remember I am swinging outside and then....wham....I wake up in my bed. Tricky!

I am so done with this Bumbo....

Up until this point, Mom and Dad have found the Bumbo to be a great option for having me sit in an upright position so that they can feed me. Well that thing makes me mad. I mean it. I can barely move in it, so I am protesting. Basically, I believe that I am big enough to sit in my big girl highchair so enough with these Bumbo shennanigans!

Mom's feeling sentimental.....

Mom wants to borrow my blog for a second to share the top ten ways that I have changed hers and dad's lives in the past six months. Here she goes!
1. I can't believe I am excited to wake up at 6:00 in the morning because I get to see her for the first time in 10 hours and I have missed her!
2. She has already grown 6 inches and gained 10 and a half pounds; already she is so much bigger than the little peanut we brought home on February 3rd.
3. I've always known that smiles are contagious but NOTHING warms my heart and soul more than that full-face smile.
4. Seeing how much Brad loves his little girl (and I thought he loved our dogs!) is such a beautiful thing. The other day I watched him read her a story and kiss on her and I almost burst into tears!
5. Our dogs even understand what a special little gift she is. They protect her, lick her, and are uneasy if they don't know where she is.
6. The selfless feeling that has come with having Kate is completely transcendent.
7. She makes every day brighter.
8. She is the love of our lives and I cannot imagine what we did before we had her in our lives and in our hearts.
9. She gives our lives a completely new sense of God and sense of purpose.
10. She is our baby and we love her more than words.
