Let's dance!

That's me on the end: star student!

Recently I have been working really hard dropping hints to Mom and Dad that I am destined to become a ballerina.  I wear tutus around the house and say, "Let's dance!"  Then I twirl around and walk around on my tiptoes.  So finally, they took a hint and on Friday I went to my first dance class.  It was great!   I liked the ballet and the tumbling, but my very favorite part of the class was tap.  Do you know they make shoes that you can wear that make all sorts of loud noises and then the teacher encourages you to "tap" them and make even more noise?  Genius!

Sleepyhead

Last night was my first night to sleep longer than a four hour stretch, so I am feeling quite refreshed today and have gotten so much accomplished: plenty of eating and kicking.  I slept all the way from 9:30 pm to 4 am!!  This is huge news around my house, apparently.  Mom and Dad seemed to wake up almost as refreshed as I was!

These days my two favorite things to do are eat and snuggle.  My needs are quite basic, really.  Feed me and hold me.  And I am a happy baby!

Luke's first Aggie game day

No, we didn't get to make the trip to College Station this year for a football game with Mom being super pregnant for most of football season, but yesterday Luke got to watch his very first Aggie football game.  We played LSU in the Cotton Bowl (and lost-ugh!) But I am working with him on holding up that thumb and saying "Gig em!"  Mom, Luke and I all wore our game day shirts to story time at the library and to run errands with Gigi.  You should see the looks people gave us.  Oh well, that's what we get for living in Austin, I guess!  Since the Cotton Bowl started kinda late, I got to stay home with Gigi and have a slumber party while Mom and Dad took Luke over to the Robbs' house to watch the game with them.

Rolling over and SMILES!

Yesterday marked a big day in my life.  Gigi is in town for a couple of days while Dad is in Minneapolis for work and I am still up at all hours of the night, so Mom is happy to have some help.  Of course, Max came, too, and he loves to snuggle almost as much as I do. (see photo). Anyway, first of all I showed them my very first smiles.  When my tummy is full and they are talking to me in that sweet voice, I will just flash them a smile and melt their hearts.  So not only did I charm them yesterday with sweet smiles, but last night we were all on the couch and I was lying on my tummy and decided it was time to be on my back so I gave one big grunt and rolled over all by myself.  And mind you, I am only 5 weeks old, so everyone seems impressed.  Mom sent this action shot to Dad to let him in on the big news.  As soon as Kate realized what a big deal it was to roll over, she proceeded to say, "Ooooh I can roll over."  And rolled all over the living room floor.  She's a riot.  And no matter how hard Mom tried, she could not get a picture of my smile.  But I am sure she will keep trying...

On Friday Mom, Dad, Luke and I loaded up to celebrate New Years Eve at Blackjack.  My Jeep made the trip and I got to drive it on the gravel road for the first time.  That was fun.  Although Dad was the only one that actually stayed up to ring in the new year, we still celebrated it on Saturday when Luke and Mary came in to meet Baby Luke!  Mary got to get in lots of good snuggle time with him as well as lots of fun play time with me.  I had her running and chasing me everywhere as I jumped on all of the beds. We had lots of fun and they brought Luke that atrocious burnt orange sleeper.  Poor little guy!  Happy New Year everyone!
