Animal lover

If Kate could live in a world of only animals, I think she would be okay with that.  She just loves animals-all animals.  Her favorite is the Cheetah, but she can't get enough of her cats and dogs and asks us regularly if she can have a bearded dragon because she "also loves reptiles".  Here she is with Uncle John's cat, Sylvia and Pumpkin the calf.

Christmas Break

It has become our tradition to spend the week between Christmas in New Years at Blackjack.  We like to do little projects, celebrate Mimi's birthday on December 27th, and just enjoy the fresh air and sunshine and having nothing to do.  Here is a wrap up of our week at Blackjack.
We took Mimi and Iva to lunch at Reba's for her birthday.  She's 92!!

The cats enjoyed their time at Blackjack.

Ice on Dad's truck one morning is the closest we got to snow.

Happy Birthday Mimi!!

There were three new calves born while we were there.  They were adorable.

Every winter we have the sweetest little flock of ducks that migrates to the tank at Blackjack.  This year someone shot one of them and it broke our hearts a little bit.

Our big project this year was sprucing up the bunk house.

One of the baby calves.  We named her Pumpkin.

Our other project was building a karaoke stage for the barn.  Here it is all decorated and ready for New Years.

Christmas 2014

This year's Christmas might have been our best yet.  Mama T, Daddy Bob and Aunt Lynne came down for early Christmas and we spent some time at Blackjack with them before heading back to Austin where we spent Christmas Eve with Gigi, Popo and Uncle John.  We went to church where this year Kate was an angel and Luke was a sheep in the Christmas Pageant.  Then we woke up (at 4 something...) to open presents where favorites were: Kate-a talking bird and Luke-a power rangers phone.  After presents we straightened up our house so that we could head to Blackjack and spend the rest of the day with Mimi.  Merry Christmas everyone!

Pre-Christmas Festivities

It is time to play a little catch-up with the blog, so here we go!  This year our Christmas season was fun, busy, and filled with joy.  Here is how we spent the month of December:
Kate was a "rag doll" in her choir performance.
