We woke up early this morning with the goal of getting to White Sands New Mexico for sunset. Our first stop was 30 miles east of Flagstaff at the Meteor Crater. We all thought it was amazing. Then we did our last stretch down Route 66 ending in Holbrook, AZ where we headed south through the mountains and through the Petrified Forest. We stopped in Alpine, AZ for little lunch before crossing the border into New Mexico. Once in New Mexico, we headed straight through Las Cruces and up to White Sands where we ran and rolled in the sand. We spent the night in Alamogordo at the Fairfield Inn and Kate is sure that hotel is a place she wants to return.
